Dubai Family Visa Sponsorship

Sponsor your family on a Dubai residence visa — spouse, children, and parents. Includes GDRFA application, medical, Emirates ID, and visa stamping. Salary thresholds: AED 4,000 with accommodation or AED 10,000 without.

Description

Dubai Family Visa Sponsorship allows UAE residents (investors, employees, professionals) to sponsor their immediate family for UAE residence visas — spouse, children (under 18, or studying full-time), and parents. The sponsor must meet income and accommodation requirements set by GDRFA (General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs) Dubai. Family visas are typically issued for 2 years and renewable in line with the sponsor's own visa validity.

The core requirements are: (1) Active Dubai residence visa for the sponsor, (2) Minimum salary of AED 4,000/month with employer-provided accommodation OR AED 10,000/month without accommodation (parental sponsorship requires higher salary, typically AED 20,000+), (3) Registered tenancy contract with appropriate room count for the family size, (4) Attested marriage and birth certificates for the family members, and (5) Health insurance for each sponsored family member.

Octavon Global Advisory handles complete family visa sponsorship — eligibility assessment based on sponsor's salary and accommodation, document attestation guidance (Embassy and MoFA), entry permit issuance for family arrival, medical fitness coordination, Emirates ID registration and biometrics, visa stamping, and health insurance recommendations. Standard family visa processing completes in 7 to 14 working days per family member from document submission.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the salary requirements to sponsor family in Dubai?

The standard minimum is AED 4,000/month with employer-provided accommodation, OR AED 10,000/month without accommodation. These thresholds apply per family unit (spouse + children). Parental sponsorship requires a higher salary, typically AED 20,000+ and additional documentation.

Can I sponsor my parents on a Dubai family visa?

Yes, but the requirements are stricter. You typically need to demonstrate (a) higher salary (AED 20,000+), (b) that both parents must be sponsored together (or evidence of single surviving parent), and (c) proof that you are the sole or primary financial provider. Parental visas are reviewed case-by-case by GDRFA.

How long does Dubai family visa processing take?

Standard processing typically completes in 7 to 14 working days per family member from document submission. Processing can extend if document attestation is needed or if the family is applying from outside the UAE.

Can I sponsor adult children?

Sons can be sponsored up to age 18 (or up to age 25 if enrolled in full-time education in the UAE — proof of enrolment required). Daughters can be sponsored until marriage with fewer age restrictions. After these limits, adult children must apply for their own employment, student, or investor visa.

Do family members need a medical fitness test?

Yes, family members aged 18 and above require a medical fitness test (residence visa medical screening). Children under 18 require only a basic health check. The medical fitness test is part of our service package.

Can my spouse work on a family visa?

Yes, but they need a separate work permit from MOHRE (mainland) or the relevant free zone authority. The family visa allows residence, but employment requires a work permit issued by the employer. We assist with the work permit transition when the spouse takes employment.

What attestation is required for marriage and birth certificates?

Marriage and birth certificates must be attested by the country of origin's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then by the UAE Embassy in that country, then by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs after arrival. We provide detailed attestation guidance based on the country of issuance.
